Paxata Inc. is riding high. In
September, it signed a partnership and reseller agreement with
Cisco. In October, it announced "ClicktoPrep," a feature that
permits analysts to invoke Paxata's "edit" or "filter" mode from
within Tableau itself and to switch between the two environments,
helping analysts explore, standardize, prepare, and (if necessary)
clean data before blending it.

At the TDWI Conference in San
Diego, WebAction officially unveiled a new product name --
"Striim" -- and new product marketing collateral. Company officials
stress that Striim-the-product is more or less the same as
WebAction-the-product: the same pricing and licensing arrangements
and streaming-analytic logic. Driving the name change is a streaming
space that is more crowded. Striim is aiming at something more --
streaming analytics and streaming integration.
