With its forthcoming Teradata v14 release, Teradata is going columnar. Unlike some columnar overtures from its competitors, Teradata Columnar isn't a bolt-on or complementary columnar capability, either. Elsewhere, Teradata is prepping Unity -- its much-anticipated user and query routing tool - - and a connector that supports high-speed bidirectional integration between Teradata systems and nCluster, the analytic database platform it acquired from Aster Data.
