Who Moved My Data? Trends and Directions for Modernizing Data Integration

September 12, 2024

Prerequisite: None

David Stodder

Research Fellow

TDWI

Around the clock, data is on the move, often continuously through pipelines and processes for data discovery, ingestion, streaming, collection, and transformation. Some organizations use data virtualization layers or fabrics to enable access, querying, and governance without data movement. The complex, varied, and interdependent world of data integration can be difficult to modernize. Yet modernization is essential to meeting data demands that today include AI models and applications.

In this session, TDWI Research Fellow David Stodder will discuss trends and directions influencing strategies for modernizing data integration. Organizations need to capitalize on the latest in data integration technology while reducing disruptions and downtime when data integration environments change, such as with cloud migration.

Stodder will address:

  • Improving the business value of data through modern integration and observability
  • The critical role of data intelligence, including data catalogs and master data management
  • Modernizing data integration when the data architecture changes, including migrating to the cloud
