Analytics Programs with Huge Targets: What They Look Like and How They Happen (with Audience Q&A)

April 17, 2024

Prerequisite: None

Richard Hines

Analytics Consultant and Educator

This session will include a moderated Q&A featuring questions from the live audience.

Businesses recognize the importance of data and analytics in their core operations and as the cornerstone of their digital strategies. But what are the expected outcomes from these programs? Over the years, we have heard phrases such as “democratize data” or “deliver a self-service capability,” but is that enough? Data and analytics programs should deliver either increased revenue, decreased costs, or decreased risk—or better yet, all of the above. The logical next question is how much increased revenue, how much decreased cost, etc.

Richard Hines will provide insight into analytics programs that have enormous targets for increased revenue and/or decreased costs. Successful programs calculate high-level financial objectives and empower ambitious teams to go get them. Hines will address questions including:

  • How do huge targets for analytics programs get established?
  • What are methods for data monetization and how do you track benefits?
  • What do ambitious team compositions typically look like?
  • What are important considerations when balancing doing it right versus doing it fast? How are outcomes different within these two different approaches?
  • What types of culture best support ambitious programs?
  • What is the role of data literacy?

Learn how to develop an ambitious data and analytics program that balances investments, outcomes, maturity, and repeatability.
