Enabling Data Intelligence and Observability (with Audience Q&A)

April 29, 2026

Lyndsay Wise

Data Governance Lead, Chief Data Steward

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

This session will include a moderated Q&A featuring questions from the live audience.

A data-driven organization is predicated on the ability to make informed decisions within a unified data environment. Doing so requires breaking down data silos and enabling better observability across an organization’s data ecosystem. Strong data lineage, an automated data catalog with sensitivity labels, and proactive data quality management need to be prioritized to support advanced analytics and AI readiness. Otherwise, projects are more likely to fail. Ensuring pipelines don’t break, knowing where data assets reside within a system, understanding data dependencies, and implementing role-based access controls are all a part of enabling strong intelligence.

In this session, Lyndsay Wise will define the pillars of strong data intelligence and observability and outline how organizations can create an automated approach to proactive monitoring of data flows and data assets.

Topics will include:

  • Automation of metadata management and data catalog creation
  • Use of data lineage insight to make sure data is understood at the field level across systems
  • Tie-in of data observability and proactive data quality management
  • How to build a strong foundation to support better proactive data visibility
