Getting from Operational BI to the Real Time

Webinar Abstract
Today, organizations across all industries are rushing to a new frontier opened up by the power of recent developments in information technology. Much of the excitement centers on speed: technologies are converging to dramatically reduce, if not eliminate, delays in how organizations serve customers; respond to events in their markets, supply chains, and manufacturing processes; and apply information insights to a range of decision making. “Real time” is becoming a reality and a competitive advantage.

Operational business intelligence (BI) has been critical to this evolution, enabling organizations to apply information to frontline customer interactions and other business processes. Some organizations have pushed further, using embedded BI and analytics in applications and automated processes to increase speed. To become proactive, organizations are applying predictive analytics to present offers in real‐time to customers, prevent fraudulent transactions, and detect patterns in data streams and social network activity. By becoming proactive, they can anticipate events and shape the future.

Based on her recently published TDWI Checklist Report on operational BI, Claudia Imhoff will lead a panel discussion that will focus on how organizations can build on operational BI to evolve toward real‐time enterprises.

You Will Learn:

  • How to become proactive in dealing with events and changes in your business environment
  • Where organizations are now with operational BI
  • The success factors that enable companies to create solid operational BI and analytics environments
  • How to move forward with business optimization, embedded BI and analytics, predictive analytics, real-time BI and analytics, and stream processing
