Now more than ever, BI managers are asked to do more with less. BI budgets for large companies have been trimmed during the recent economic downturn and likely won’t recover any time soon. Also, as BI moves downstream to small- and mid-sized businesses (SMB), capital expenditures and maintenance budgets for BI programs are downsized as well. Consequently, BI managers at all companies are evaluating and implementing new strategies, techniques, and technologies that promise to deliver greater value to the business in a more economical fashion.
