Webinar Abstract
The boundary between analytical and operational applications is fast eroding. Organizations that blend analytical and operational applications are becoming more agile, able to respond to significant business events and trends in a timely manner that optimizes performance. Some organizations are "closing the loop" between these two environments by speeding the delivery of information to decision makers through active data warehousing or other right-time methods; while others are automating decisions using statistical models, rules engines, and intelligent agents. This session will outline key strategies for merging operational and analytical tasks and provide examples that illustrate best practices.

You will learn:

  • The four categories of operational BI
  • Various approaches to architecting operational reporting environments
  • How to architect an event-driven environment
  • How to automate decisions by using rules engines that incorporate statistical models
