Abstract

As the need for "right-time" information becomes more prevalent, organizations are increasingly looking to new information delivery methods such as Enterprise Information Integration (EII). But where should we draw the line between hype and hip? It's more than a distributed query, but where do vendors sometimes over-promise and under-deliver? This presentation will explain EII, how it is different from other integration technologies, and the mechanisms used to provide data. The goal is to outline areas where EII is a good fit and areas where other tools may be more appropriate.
