The Data Warehousing Institute Launches Los Angeles Chapter for Local Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Professionals

August 14, 2006, Seattle, WA—The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI), the premier provider of in-depth, high-quality education and research in the business intelligence and data warehousing industry, announced today that it has launched a new chapter in Los Angeles.

TDWI's Chapter program is designed to serve the needs of local business intelligence and data warehousing professionals through regular meetings where TDWI Members can share best practices, challenges, and career advice.

The new Los Angeles Chapter is TDWI's first on the west coast, and its seventh overall. Throughout the past year, TDWI has launched five other U.S. chapters in Memphis, New York, Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Washington, D.C., as well as one international chapter in Denmark.

"We are very excited to have L.A. join TDWI’s Chapter lineup," said Wayne Eckerson, director of research and services for TDWI. "While TDWI offers the best BI training in the industry, we also believe BI professionals gain tremendous value by meeting with each other on a regional basis to share ideas."

"Being such an important business and technological center, L.A. has a large community of data warehousing and business intelligence professionals," said William Lay, chapter president. "Gathering and formalizing this community as a TDWI Chapter will offer tremendous opportunities for everyone involved."
